What's New?
You may have noticed a few new additions to the gardens. In the last few years we carried out a woodland planting project, adding a micro forest. We renovated the old herb & vegetable garden, added new signs, seating, planters & plants. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make that happen.
Brockley Bug Hotel
Brockley's latest hotel - sorry you can't book it's for bugs only! Using recycled materials we created a hotel specially for insects. We continue to develop the garden as a haven for wildlife, with the aim of improving biodiversity.
Woodland Area & Micro Forest
We planted 50 native trees and shrubs. As part of the work volunteers constructed a dead hedge which is another place for insects to live and thrive. Look out for the beautiful hand-made signs. We now have a stunning micro forest in the heart of Brockley.
Herb Garden
A new area called the Kitchen Garden has been created, where herbs grow. We designed the space with access for wheelchair users, plus included raised beds made from natural materials for the new plants. Preparing the beds with compost and mulch first, followed by the planting.
We created additional seating made of natural materials. It’s wonderful to see so many people use the space to sit, enjoy nature and engage with other members of the local community. It is a brilliant new addition to the gardens.
